| | hi and thanks for joining me today. how would you describe a 2-day spring break getaway to dallas to someone who hasn't been in years, even though it's only a couple of hours away? well, i'd start with unusual but fun. yes, there were moments that made me realize that we don't get out enough, but i suppose that just made it that much more fun (or funny, as the case may be). it all started when we arrived in dallas. our first destination was to be some kind of railroad museum in fair park. we got to fair park, and i could tell my dad was getting really confused as to where to go once we got in there. we finally got out, and assumed that our building was the large one near the old train cars. well, that one turned out to be the empty Centennial Hall. so my dad asked some guy that was standing around talking on his cell phone for directions, so then we had it halfway figured out. i'll spare you the details, but once we figured it all out, we discovered that this museum wasn't even open for the day. so then we got in the car and started driving (to where, i dunno). we ended up driving through the Deep Ellum area, which ... was interesting. we stopped at a subway in there, and while we were there, this panhandler who was more or less harassing people trying to come in to eat got the cops called on him and got arrested. so that was interesting.
since i'm getting tired of typing, i might tell you more ... tomorrow.
And I'm Garrett, reporting live for KGLW News. |
